Welcome

A warm welcome is extended to guests at La Fargette, a comfortable and attractively renovated 19th century stone built farm cottage situated on the edge of the village of Limeyrat. It has a pleasing southerly exposition looking out over wooded hills, and backs onto the village green, with its shady lime and chestnut trees.

Limeyrat is a small, very “lived in” village, aloof from the tourist bustle of the Dordogne and Vézère valleys but within easy reach of the renowned prehistoric and mediaeval sites along these two beautiful rivers. It is also close to the less well known but equally delightful attractions of the more northerly parts of the Périgord.

The village is equidistant from Périgueux, capital of the Dordogne with its interesting old town and Gallo-Roman remains, and Montignac, an extremely pretty town on the Vézère, renowned for the magnificent prehistoric cave paintings at nearby Lascaux. Sarlat, a lovely mediaeval and Renaissance town known as the ‘Pearl of the Périgord’, lies a short distance beyond.

Limeyrat has a shop/boulangerie, a post office and a small bar/restaurant, whilst the nearby market town of Thenon offers a supermarket and other facilities.
